Founder of the Torres Law Firm in Simi Valley, Rafael is an attorney specializing in immigration, with a particular focus on removal defense in immigration court and family-based petitions.
Effie has a Master's in Human Rights Studies, specializing in forced migration & displacement. Effie has worked in the field with people who became asylum seekers and refugees.
KELVIN M. HAU CANCHÉ
Kelvin was recognized as “High School Volunteer of the Year 2018”by the Thousand Oaks Youth Commission. He is now a business major at Moorpark College and board member of the Social Justice Fund of Ventura County.
Kellie graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Sociology. Kellie's research focuses on how public policies affect marginalized communities in education, healthcare, and immigration.
AMY ELIAS REED
Amy is a retired high school teacher who taught Spanish and English in Newbury Park for 38 years. She sponsored the High School's Latino Club, Gay Straight alliance, and Interact Club.
MARIA J. RODRIGUEZ
Maria is a graduate of California Lutheran University, focused on accessibility to legal aid for immigrants in Ventura County and advocacy for policies that uphold the humanity of immigrants and refugees and advance social justice.
ÁLVARO DE REGIL CASTILLA
Álvaro is Executive Director of The Jus Semper Global Alliance – a coalition supporting living wages worldwide. He is also an educator about the root causes of immigration, for which we all share a responsibility.
Claudia coordinates patient intake at Westminster Free Clinic and provides information about health care and immigration rights to community members in Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.
Willie is a long-time social justice advocate and a small business owner in Thousand Oaks. He also serves as co-chair of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee of Ventura County.
